The Mary Rowlandson story was America’s first best seller. Published in the late 1600′s, it was Mary’s journal account of her abduction during King Phillip’s War.

The book is in the public domain, but facsimiles are hard to read. IdeasThanksgiving.com highly recommends Warren Rasmussen’s version, which is typset exactly as it was written, only with helpful historical notes and illustrations to make the text understandable.

Warren’s version is available at MaryRowlandson.com
